Pune Warriors India represents Pune in the Indian Premier
League, and is a franchise cricket team that was founded in the 2010. The first
two season of Indian Premier League was not played by Pune Warriors. The team
was amongst the two new teams that were launched in the year 2011 into IPL one
being it and the other being Kochi Tuskers Kerala. The bid that was made by Sahara
Adventure Sports Limited to bring in Pune Warriors was the highest bid up till now in the IPL.
The team is captained by Yuvraj Singh and coached by former
Indian Cricketer Praveen Amre specifically for the IPL6, wherein Allan Donald
serves as the bowling coach for the team. The home ground of team is the newly
constructed Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium located in Pune. The team has a logo of spear wielding warrior riding a stallion, together
with teams name. Wherein the color of the team is Turquoise blue and Silver
specifically designed for the season 2012.
Pune warriors as winner in IPL
Being introduced in the mid of the year 2010,the team
obviously did not played any matches up to 2010.Further in the next years i.e.
2011 and 2012, it played but couldn't qualify up to the finals hence it makes
it clear that the team is not the recipient of any of the IPL trophies up till
now. Though the team members have hopes for IPL 2013, which depends on their
efforts and luck both.
