Mumbai Indians is the Mumbai based cricket team franchise in
the Indian Premier League. The team was founded in the year 2008 and is owned
by the renowned Reliance Industries together with its 100% subsidiary IndiaWin
Sports. Currently for the IPL 2013 the team is captained and coached by Ricky
Ponting and John Wright. The results of IPL 6 will be the evidence of the fact
that whether the efforts of the respective teams captain and Coach worked out
or not.
The Home ground of the team is famous Wankhede Stadium
located in Mumbai. From 2007 auction till 2010 edition Mumbai Indians made the
most expensive bid. The team logo has the team name engraved on the Sudarshan
Chakra. In the transfer window 2008-09 Mumbai Indians dealt two swap deals with
Ashish Nehra swapped with Shikhar Dhawan of Delhi Dare Devils and Robin Uthappa
swapped with Zaheer Khan of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai Indians as the winners of IPL
Mumbai Indians has been the runners –up in 2010 in the IPL when it lost the IPL final by 22 runs against Chennai Super Kings
because of failure to chase 169 runs. The team won none of the tournaments of
Indian Premier League but was the winner of the Champions League Twenty20, that
took place in the Indian Sub continent .The team defeated Royal Challengers
Bangalore by 31 runs at the final that was held at Chennai. Being a good team
of IPL, there are much expectations from this team in the IPL 6 also.
